8 concerts, over 7,000 spectators and the emotion of Easter music performed by the Madrigal Choir

Between March 29th and April 13th, 2023, the National Chamber Choir "Madrigal - Marin Constantin” held 8 performances as part of the National Easter Tour "Holy Week" in Bacău, Iași, Târgu Mureș, Brașov, Sibiu, Cluj-Napoca, Oradea, and Bucharest.
The recording of the extraordinary performance "Holy Week" in Bucharest will be broadcast on Sunday, April 16th, at 20:00 on Trinitas TV and on Monday, the second day of Easter, at 21:00  on Radio Trinitas.

"The Holy Week 2023 was one of the most complex tours we have organized in recent years. We traveled 3000 kilometers to be with the audience in 8 cities in a record time, and our efforts were rewarded each time with the warmth with which we were welcomed. In each of the cities we performed, we carried out the Cantus Mundi promotion tour, in which we set important regional projects together with capable people from the local public administration, inspectorates, teachers, and conductors. None of this could have been achieved without the extraordinary Madrigal - Cantus Mundi team, whom I thank with gratitude. I also thank our partners, who are always with us in our initiatives. May the holidays be bright for everyone!" declared Emil Pantelimon, the manager of the National Chamber Choir "Madrigal - Marin Constantin" and the director of the show.

The "Holy Week" show was conducted by Anna Ungureanu - the main conductor and Cezar Verlan - the secondary conductor, who included gems from Byzantine and Western European Easter music in their repertoire. Actors Corneliu and Pavel Ulici completed the epic thread of the production with sacred and universal texts, and over 1,300 children from the choirs of the Cantus Mundi National Program in Romania and the Republic of Moldova sang alongside the Madrigal Choir in the 8 shows.

The direction and script of the Easter Extraordinary Show "Holy Week" were signed by Emil Pantelimon, the scenery by Vladimir Turturica, and the lighting design by Alin Popa. Dorin Popovici created the video mapping, and Gabriel Scîrlet signed the musical direction.
The "Holy Week" National Tour was attended by a large audience of over 7,000 spectators, and on Saturday, April 8, the show in Cluj-Napoca was broadcast live on TVR Cultural for viewers throughout the country. Spectators and music lovers of the Madrigal Choir received the show "Holy Week" with joy:

The National Tour "Holy Week" is part of the anniversary program "MADRIGAL 60", which this year marks 6 decades of uninterrupted activity, excellence in music, and diplomacy through culture for the Madrigal Choir, which has become a symbol of national artistic consistency, as well as cultural and image relevance of Romania in the world.
