Imre Kalman creates the score for the operetta “Countess Maritza”, being already a world-famous composer, the author of “Bayadera”, “Princess Czardas”, “Gypsy Premiere”... For the first time, the new operetta saw the light of the stage on the stage of the Vienna Theater An der Wien on February 28, 1924 of the year. The premiere was a huge success. The new work immediately established itself as one of the composer’s best creations and became the standard of neo-Viennese operetta. “Countess Maritza” to this day enjoys the same recognition from the public, captivating with the beauty of the melodies, poetry, and a plot full of love intrigue and intricacies.

The rich and headstrong beauty Maritza arrives at her estate and there she meets and later falls in love with Tasillo, the poor manager of her estate. Not long ago, he, the rich and wealthy young Count Erdedi, having squandered all his fortune, was forced to sell the family castle and, under a false name, become the manager of his former estate, now owned by Countess Maritza... In the meantime, in order to get rid of annoying suitors, she announces her engagement to Mr. Zupan. This innocent lie gives rise to a lot of unexpected situations and absurdities...

Имре Кальман создает партитуру оперетты «Графиня Марица», будучи уже всемирно известным композитором, автором «Баядеры», «Княгини чардаша», «Цыгана-премьера»… Впервые новая оперетта увидела свет рампы на сцене венского театра «Ан дер Вин» 28 февраля 1924 года. Премьера прошла с огромным успехом. Новое произведение сразу же зарекомендовало себя одним из лучших творений композитора и стало эталоном неовенской оперетты. «Графиня Марица» и по сей день пользуется таким же признанием публики, пленяя красотой мелодий, поэтичностью, полным любовных интриг и хитросплетений сюжетом.

Богатая и своевольная красавица Марица приезжает в свое поместье и там знакомится, а позже и влюбляется в Тасилло, бедного управляющего ее имением. Не так давно он, богатый и состоятельный молодой граф Эрдеди, промотав все свое состояние, был вынужден продать фамильный замок и под чужим именем стать управляющим бывшим собственным имением, ныне принадлежащим графине Марице… А пока, дабы избавиться от надоедливых женихов, она объявляет о своей помолвке с господином Зупаном. Эта невинная ложь порождает массу неожиданных ситуаций и нелепостей…
