Kate Pitt

Kate Pitt is a dramaturg, director, and writer focused on new and classic work for the stage. She is a Dramaturg Apprentice in the Composer Librettist Development Program at American Lyric Theater and Resident Dramaturg for the Vanguard Initiative at Chicago Opera Theater. Recent credits include the world premieres of "Dig" by Theresa Rebeck at Dorset Theatre Festival, “Hamlet’s Big Adventure (a prequel)" by the Reduced Shakespeare Company, and the first performance of “The Transformation of Jane Doe” by Stacy Garrop and Jerre Dye at Chicago Opera Theater. Kate has taught dramaturgy as a guest lecturer at the Longy School of Music of Bard College and produced public programs at the Folger Shakespeare Library.
