Biography
Céline Akçağ, born in Zurich/Switzerland, got her first singing lessons from her mother. After precollege at the Konservatorium Zürich, studying with Ulrike Andersen, she completed her Bachelor degree in opera, concert and vocal pedagogy (Hochschule für Musik Freiburg i.Br./DE, Prof. Dorothea Wirtz), an exchange semester at the Royal Academy of Music/LDN (Mary Nelson and Iain Ledingham), a Masters in Opera Singing (Theaterakademie August Everding/MUC, KS Prof. Andreas Schmidt), a Masters in Concert Singing (Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, KS Prof. Christiane Iven and Okka von der Damerau), as well as a Postgraduate Liedduo (Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, Prof. Pauliina Tukiainen).
