A programme of romantic and contemporary repertoire from a piano trio known for the warmth and delicacy of its playing.

Dvořák’s second piano trio was written shortly after the death of his daughter and, turbulent and elegiac by turns, it stands as an honour to her memory. Suk’s Elegie is also a memorial piece, for a writer and poet of Bohemian legends, and is of striking beauty.

The third piece is Sir Andrzej Panufnik's remarkable trio - composed at the age of 19, of which he said: “without thought of public performance, I was trying not to control essential technicalities but to write a true musical composition containing some expressiveness of feeling and vitality”.

About Trio Incendio
Founded in 2016, Trio Incendio has quickly established itself as a distinctive young European ensemble and it has already performed in some of the finest European venues including Wigmore Hall, Philharmonie Berlin, and Rudolfinum in Prague.

Friday Lunchtime Concerts
Each Friday from January to March we invite you to our Friday Lunchtime Concerts on the Suffolk Coast. We offer musical delight and respite from the winter winds in the shape of performances by brilliant young ensembles from the UK and abroad. All ensembles in this series are Britten Pears Young Artists for 2023-24, and are on a Chamber Music Residency as part of the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme.
