the plot of the theater play "The Human Voice" continuously inspires and excites the imagination of many theater and film creators. Its first film realization was made in 1948 by Roberto Rossellini with Anna Magnani. In 1966, the Bulgarian film director Ted Kochev filmed "The Human Voice" with Ingrid Bergman, and the last film production was with Sophia Loren in 2013 by her son, the director Edoardo Ponti.  


Francis Poulenc (7/01/1899 – 30/01/1963) revived "The Human Voice" in 1958 as an operatic work, which he defined as a "lyrical tragedy". Jean Cocteau himself worked closely with the composer and with the first performer of the world premiere of the opera mono-performance, soprano Denise Duval. Cocteau is the author of the libretto, scenography and costumes. He is also the director of the opera performance, which took place on February 6, 1959 at the Opéra Comique in Paris.

Poulenc is also known for his comic opera The Breasts of Tiresias based on Apollinaire (1947) and also for the drama The Dialogue of the Carmelites, revealing the tragic fate of the Carmelite nuns executed during the French Revolution. His work in church music is also notable - with numerous choral works, Mass (1937) and especially the moving Stabat mater (1950).

Сюжетът на театралната пиеса „Човешкият глас“ вдъхновява и вълнува непрестанно  въображението на много театрални и филмови творци. Първата ѝ филмова реализация е осъществена през 1948 година от Роберто Роселини с Анна Маняни. През 1966 година българският филмов режисьор Тед Кочев снима „Човешкият глас“ с Ингрид Бергман, а последната филмова продукция е със София Лорен през 2013 година на нейния син, режисьора Едоардо Понти.  


Франсис Пуленк (7.01.1899 – 30.01.1963) преражда „Човешкият глас“  през 1958 година като оперна творба, която определя като „лирическа трагедия“. Самият Жан Кокто работи в тясно сътрудничество с композитора и с първата изпълнителка на световната премиера на оперния моно-спектакъл, сопраното Денис Дювал. Кокто е автор на либретото, на сценографията и костюмите. Той е и режисьор на оперното представление, състояло се на 6 февруари 1959 година в парижката Опера Комик.

Пуленк е известен още с комичната си опера „Гърдите на Тиресиас” по текст на Аполинер (1947), а също и с драмата „Диалогът на кармелитките”, разкриваща трагичната съдба на монахините-кармелитки, екзекутирани по време на Френската революция. Забележително е и творчеството му в църковната музика – с множество хорови творби, Меса (1937) и най-вече с вълнуващата Stabat mater (1950).
