U POVODU PREMIJERE KADIŠL I NEBESKI PUTNICI
Hommage stradalim Židovima u Hrvatskoj tijekom 2. svjetskog rata

Ratovi ne prestaju. Zlo nije nestalo. Nismo ga izgnali. Kao ljudi smo poraženi jer ne znamo održati mir. Mijenja se samo kroz tisućljeća i desetljeća tehnologija ubijanja i ratovanja, ali ne i priroda čovjeka.
Ovo dvadeset i prvo stoljeće mnogi su s puno nade unaprijed nazivali stoljećem duhovnosti….Nažalost, porazno je istini pogledati u lice, jer graditelji mira imaju moćnog protivnika u rušiteljima, u krvi i pepelu.
Umjesto mira, čak i svemir biva sve više zagađen oružjem, a zemlja se još vrti i svatko razuman se pita -dokle?
U vijestima slušamo o ratu u Ukrajini. I ponovno pred našim očima prolaze kolone uplakane, blijede djece, masa svijeta u bijegu od smrti, žene i djevojčice koje su na put neizvjesnosti povele i svoje kućne ljubimce; gledamo lica odraslih muškaraca koji plaču, ne znajući hoće li ikada više vidjeti svoje najmilije.

Povijest nam se smije u dronjcima skrojenim od iluzija mirotvoraca. Žrtve se u svojoj nijemoj bespomoćnosti drže za ruke i šute, pognutih glava, dok kiša pada pomiješana sa snijegom.
Je li to Bog opet plače? Jer čovjek ponovno napušta čovjeka.
Pitala sam se kao autorica teksta kada je bio u nastajanju, zašto pisati o holokaustu? Nije li već dovoljno napisano o mržnji, nasilju, mučeništvu, ranama koje nezacjeljuju, o riječima koje se rasipaju kao pepeo. Ali, pisala sam, osjećajući osobito kad je riječ o židovskom narodu u Izraelu i dijaspori, da sjene mrtvih tako često zasjenjuju sjene živih. I da se trauma holokausta prenosi s naraštaja na naraštaj.
Pisanje je bilo iskustvo glasova koji su nijemi, razasuti nebom na kojem je njihovo groblje. Pisanje o holokaustu, pa i na ovom prostoru u vrijeme NDH je pisanje u samoći srca. Ali ipak, od riječi ne treba odustati, jer pisac kao i glumac, združeni u ovoj kazališnoj predstavi predstavljaju kolektivno pamćenje. I ima li što ljudskije i hrabrije od toga da izdržimo svoj život i sudbinu i tako sačuvamo u duši nadu i onda kada nade nema.
Većinu likova u tekstu, a i u kazališnoj predstavi Kadišl i nebeski putnici na nekakav alkemijski način veže usud prošlosti i sadašnjosti. Pred čitateljima i gledateljima se gotovo filmskom brzinom izmjenjuju likovi, svaki od njih je svijeća koja će dogorjeti pred našim očima.
Izvedbena umjetnost ima svoju čudesnu melodiju u kojoj uz glazbu, u notama ispisuju osjećaji i sjećanja, istovremeno upisujući neke nove puteve Budućeg svijeta ili kako kažu Židovi - Svijeta koji dolazi.
Fenomen zla je zastrašujući, fenomen kada se sile zla ponekad otmu i pustoše svijetom pokapajući razum, humanost, suosjećanje. Za ljudsko biće je to zagonetka onkraj smisla. Ali, riječ na stranicama knjige kao i na kazališnoj sceni ipak biva otporom protiv besmislenosti i depersonalizacije čovjeka….
Na taj način uloga književnog djela i kazališnog uprizorenja je mnogo više od puke estetske kategorije. Jer, i nakon završetka predstave naši životi će se nastaviti, no, biti će obogaćeni spoznajom da jedino ljubav i mir u srcu spašavaju nas same kao i svijet.

ON THE OCCASION OF THE PREMIERE KADIŠL AND HEAVENLY PASSENGERS Tribute
to the Jews who died in Croatia during the Second World War

Wars don't stop. Evil has not disappeared. We did not expel him. As humans, we are defeated because we do not know how to maintain peace. Only the technology of killing and warfare changes over millennia and decades, but not the nature of man.
This twenty-first century was called the century of spirituality by many with a lot of hope in advance....Unfortunately, it is devastating to look the truth in the face, because the builders of peace have a powerful opponent in the destroyers, in blood and ashes.
Instead of peace, even the universe is becoming more and more polluted with weapons, and the earth is still spinning and every reasonable person is wondering - for how long?
We hear about the war in Ukraine in the news. And once again before our eyes pass the columns of crying, pale children, the mass of the world fleeing from death, women and girls who have taken their pets along on the path of uncertainty; we look at the faces of grown men crying, not knowing if they will ever see their loved ones again.

History laughs at us in rags made from the illusions of peacemakers. In their mute helplessness, the victims hold hands and remain silent, heads bowed, while the rain falls mixed with snow.
Is that God crying again? Because man leaves man again.
I asked myself as the author of the text when it was being created, why write about the Holocaust? Hasn't enough been written about hatred, violence, martyrdom, wounds that don't heal, words that scatter like ashes. But I wrote, feeling especially when it comes to the Jewish people in Israel and the Diaspora, that the shadows of the dead so often overshadow the shadows of the living. And that the trauma of the Holocaust is passed on from generation to generation.
Writing was an experience of voices that are mute, scattered across the sky where their graveyard is. Writing about the Holocaust, even in this area during the NDH, is writing in the solitude of the heart. But still, one should not give up on words, because the writer as well as the actor, united in this theatrical performance, represent a collective memory. And is there anything more human and courageous than to endure our life and destiny and thus preserve hope in the soul even when there is no hope.
Most of the characters in the text, as well as in the theatrical performance Kadišl and the Heavenly Travelers, are bound by the fate of the past and the present in some alchemical way. In front of the readers and viewers, the characters change with almost cinematic speed, each of them is a candle that will burn out before our eyes.
Performance art has its own wonderful melody in which along with the music, feelings and memories are written in the notes, at the same time writing some new paths of the Future World or as the Jews say - the World to Come.
The phenomenon of evil is terrifying, a phenomenon when the forces of evil sometimes hijack and ravage the world, burying reason, humanity, and compassion. For a human being, it is a puzzle beyond comprehension. But the word on the pages of the book as well as on the stage of the theater still becomes a resistance against the meaninglessness and depersonalization of man....
In this way, the role of a literary work and theatrical performance is much more than a mere aesthetic category. Because, even after the end of the play, our lives will continue, but they will be enriched by the knowledge that only love and peace in the heart can save us as well as the world.
