Following the 150th anniversary of the death of the Pesaro genius Gioacchino Rossini, celebrated all over the world, one of the absolute masterpieces of the comic genre in opera returns to Viterbo: THE BARBER OF SEVILLE.
A completely new production signed by Pippo Franco, multifaceted artist and great melodrama expert, entrusted to the baton of Maestro Stefano Romani who will direct the EtruriaEnsamble orchestra and the soloists of the Mythos Opera Festival. The tricks of the Barbiere Figaro, first staged by Beaumarchais and consecrated in music by Rossini, will lead the Count d'Almaviva to win the hand of the beautiful Rosina, leaving the poor tutor Don Bartolo amazed between gags and hilarious moments still very current at a distance of two centuries. A sparkling season opening to celebrate the return of the great opera in that Viterbo jewel that is the Union Theater.

A  seguito della ricorrenza dei 150 anni della morte del genio pesarese Gioacchino Rossini, celebrata in tutto il mondo, torna a Viterbo uno dei capolavori assoluti del genere buffo nell’opera lirica: IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA.
Una produzione tutta nuova firmata da Pippo Franco, artista poliedrico e grande esperto di melodramma, affidata alla bacchetta del Mº Stefano Romani che dirigerà l’orchestra EtruriaEnsamble ed i solisti del Mythos Opera Festival. Le astuzie del Barbiere Figaro, portate in scena prima da Beaumarchais e consacrate in musica da Rossini, condurranno il Conte d’Almaviva a conquistare la mano della bella Rosina lasciando di stucco il povero tutore Don Bartolo tra gag e momenti esilaranti ancora attualissimi a distanza di due secoli. Un’apertura di stagione frizzante per festeggiare il ritorno della grande opera lirica in quel gioiello viterbese che è il Teatro dell’Unione.
